BOOK ME For Trend & Market Consultation
.Trends..My Past.As a trend forecaster it was part of my role to outline and develop four distinct trends every season.
I developed trends books and theme boards through the use of clever imagery, colour theory, illustration, market research, fabric innovation, shape, style and current influencers. Research was developed on past trends whilst analysing and observing the current market. This allowing me to make future predictions on what is coming next in the industry. These were then interpreted by my team who translated my findings into concept garments using the latest technology and innovative fabrics . Finalised trends and garments would then be showcased in full reports, twice a year and delivered to clients via a finished trend book and presentation. Furthermore I would visit clients and discuss my ideas and give an in depth explanation of the reports given, whilst offering additional support throughout their design process. Please see examples below. "When the same story is told every year, sooner or later you'll have to re-write it" .Our Present.Fashion is speeding up.... increasingly and without regard. And In its accelerated pace we are seeing a massive change within the industry. Perhaps to the detriment of high street fashion the turn over is moving so fast now that the possibility of it being missed entirely has almost become part of reality. Meaning that it has become entirely possible that high street stores can become unfashionable even before the release of their latest collections.
Its sink or swim for the fashion muses out there. And many are revoking fashion the old school way. Tilting their head in a new direction away from the catwalk and claiming inspiration from the newest most unlikely of places. With forecasters being left behind in the dust, we are seeing a new way of approaching the system. A world where inspiration is taken from the streets and personal style is looked at more favourably. Individuals follow their own hearts in terms of style, being less influenced by industry dictations. There is no following of the latest fad, but instead the clever use of the high street offerings, as a base in which to launch their own interpretations. It is those soulful eccentrics we see roaming the alleys of our home town that now start the trends. That cause a stir and influence others. They nod an acknowledgment to the runways. And complete their approval with a wink. Disregarding the trends. But creating new ones. Slowly turning our industry to stone..... ......But this is not exactly a bad thing. And change is not something to fight against. Just something to simply be accepted. "In a world where everyone has a voice, it's the ones that scream loudest that are heard" |

.The Future.
As we move ever closer into an age of androgyny, I strongly believe the need for new thinkers and a new way of forecasting is the only way forward.
As a forecaster my purpose should no longer be to dictate the new season in trend but instead offer guidance and a constant revival of inspiration.
My intention is to cut out the need for the familiar twice a year format we have become rooted to and instead offer deeper immovable trends that are cutting edge and circumnavigate every year.
With a constant stream of updates, innovation and news within the industry. I intend to offer bite sized reports and information weekly which will be collaborative of a larger monthly report.
This monthly report will combine and review all topics discussed throughout the weeks and will clarify complex ideas entering the market as well as offering direction, debate and discussion on the key factors. I will maintain a focus on the future aspects of current workable garments and touch base with our long lasting favourites. Working this alongside an additional 'colour of the month' report which will explore a new colour every month in a tale of instructive imagery.
"There is no benefit in the reinvention of the wheel. And I believe this is true in lingerie.
Let's not reinvent it. But instead, rejuvenate it constantly"
